The map above is a cumulative wind distribution
map for Hurricane Charley from August, 2004. This
display shows the path of the storm, how the size
of the storm has changed, and the areas potentially
affected by sustained winds. Hurricane storm force
winds are shown in red and tropical storm force winds
are shown in brown. The area mapped is based upon
the wind velocities contained in weather forecasts
and advisories.
The map was produced by the National
Hurricane Center. Their website is continuously
updated with maps and other information about hurricanes
and tropical storms.
