GPS data has been used to convict a murderer. Jimmy Davis was convicted of murdering Sheryl Spiros through the use of a GPS system in his Lincoln Navigator. The GPS system was on and recording the location of the vehicle. This placed Davis at the murder scene at the time the crime was committed.
