Earthquake Animation Maps
The United States Geological Survey has released Open File Report 2005-1145, "Modified Mercalli Intensity Maps for the 1906 Earthquake Plotted in ShakeMap Format". This map collection shows how the intensity of the earthquake varied geographically. In addition, animations comparing the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake with the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake are presented. Connecticut Hiking Book
The Connecticut Forest and Park Association publishes the "Connecticut Walk Book" - a guide to hiking in Connecticut. Included in the 18th edition are 75 trail maps and descriptions for the Blue-Blazed Hiking Trail System, the Appalachian Trail in Connecticut, and other trails in state forests, parks and quasi-public open space areas maintained in part or entirely by CFPA trail volunteers. Use this guide while you are hiking in Connecticut but it also tells you where you can park, where you can get a fantastic view and many other items of interest. Atlas of Canadian Maps
The Royal Canadian Geographic Society has published a website full of Canadian maps and learning information. Included is an online map server that allows you to zoom, pan, navigate and querry.
